I like listening to classical music and opera whilst I decorate, do housework or other mundane jobs and, unfortunately, so many of the small portable speakers I have heard in the past sounded just too tinny to do these justice. I read lots of reviews and did comparisons and the Sony SRS-X55 came out very favourably so I bought one. I am SO glad I did. The sound reproduction is excellent and surprisingly pure and clear for a speaker of its size, with very little vibration and a decent bass. It's compact and stylish, the build is solid and it looks and feels like a good quality product. It's very easy to set up and use (so long as you remember to disconnect from one appliance such as your computer before trying to connect it to another.) For such a reasonable price, you can't go wrong.

Excellent sound quality for price. Easy use and connectivity. Better than a Bose speaker twice the price.

I've had this speaker for little over 3 weeks now, and I'm incredibly impressed with the sound, premium feel and overall design. The only downside I can find with the product is a lack of back lighting for the buttons, it can be quite hard to adjust the volume when there is little to no light. I can't comment on battery life, as I have it plugged in throughout. The sound is clear, with good base and can very loud when you turn the volume, easily enough to fill a room. It's probably at the limit of portabilty, you can take it out with you if needed, but you'll notice the carry around weight. Overall, apart from the lack of back lighting on the buttons, it's an incredibly well made wireless speaker, great sound and it looks very stylish.
