I purchased this product approximately five years ago and have never been happy with it. Extremely disappointing, as I do own several different Breville appliances. When using the knife for cutting roast beef, lamb, pork, banana bread or plain bread, constantly food jams in between the blades and the knife will not properly slice any further. It is difficult to remove the jammed food, as one must unplug the appliance and remove the blades. Some time ago I gave up on using the knife. It was a waste of money.

I'm a Breville enthusiast - juicer, mixer etc etc. Bough this a couple of years ago to replace a functional but very old (20 years!) Moulinex. This is, head and shoulders, the WORST Breville product I've ever used. It is underpowered, blunt, extremely poorly designed blade configuration - ham invariably gets sucked in between the oscillating blades and the whole thing just makes a pleasing buzzing noise....but it DOES NOT CUT!! I am really furious about this because I bought it as a gift for my somewhat arthritic spouse - and it was not cheap. It has the feel of something that was dreamed up by a design engineer over a weekend filled with much more interesting distractions. Breville should be ashamed of this piece of kit. It very much lets the side down.

This was a gift and we find it excellent for evenly cutting homebaked loaves of bread. But, blades not working so well after three months - we have not been able to release the blades to wash.
